Lasik Surgery and Eye Care
What is Lasik eye surgery? Lasik eye surgery is one of the leading ways to correct your vision, using a laser to correct the vision impairments in your eye. Correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, Lasik eye surgery is an option for most patients, especially those with a moderate prescription.
Is Lasik eye surgery permanent? Most of our patients have found that their results are permanent. Designed to last a lifetime, this eye care procedure is often performed only once in your lifetime. However, there are a few factors that can influence the duration of your results, and occasionally, a treatment may need to be repeated in rare cases.
What does recovery look like after the surgery? Recovery from Lasik eye surgery is fairly minimal. A full recovery takes about three to six months, as your eye needs several months to heal, but you will no longer feel pain or discomfort within a short time after treatment. Post-operation checkups are usually scheduled 24-48 hours after you have received the eye care treatment.
Am I a good candidate for treatment? Your eyes and the rest of your body must be healthy in order to receive Lasik eye surgery, and you must have had stable vision for at least a year without a significant change in your vision. You also must have a low or moderate prescription; people with high prescriptions often do not make good candidates for Lasik eye surgery.
